Dr. Edward Hamilton
Executive Chairman, Board of Directors / Co-Founder
Dr. Hamilton is a co-founder and Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors.
He directs overall company strategy as well as some day-to-day management responsibilities. In these roles, Dr. Hamilton is responsible for setting and carrying out the company’s vision and mission while maintaining its values.
Dr. Hamilton has four decades of experience in business, business analysis, animal health, and food animal production. He has also consulted on animal production issues for biotech companies, been a faculty member at two land grant universities, owned and managed several business including: animal health companies, animal genetics company, service and maintenance company, animal reproduction company, as well as farming and ranching.
He has 15 years private practice experience and 15 years of university teaching/extension experience (TAMU, UNL, SDSU). His primary area of expertise is in the integration of health, production, and financial records. Dr. Hamilton played a key role in the national development of a business analysis tool (SPA). He has authored or co-authored several articles and book chapters on production and financial analysis in beef animals; and has served as past President of the Farm Financial Standards Council.
Dr. Hamilton has degrees from Texas A& M University including BS in Veterinary Science, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine cum laude, and Masters of Agricultural Economics. Dr. Hamilton is a Professor Emeritus, Veterinary Science Department, South Dakota State University. He also is a co-founder and member of the Board of Managers of BioDak, LLC. as well as Hamilton & Company, LLC., a member of Senior Management Team, Christiansen Land and Cattle, LTD., member of the Board of Managers of Iron Horse Development Company, LLC., and board member of MHCH Family Foundation.
